Welcome rcm37!

We would like to welcome you to Local Race Chat! Our site is located in North Carolina, but you will find Racing news from all around us and hopefully we have what you are looking for. If we do not cover your area please let us know by clicking the 'Contact Us' link at the top of the forums. We will do whatever possible to help you out....

Our homepage is located at www.localracechat.com. Here you will see the most current news that has been posted in the Dirt Forums and Asphalt Forums, along with some News Archives below that. You will also find other info like the 10 most Recent Threads, How many users are online, and our current site sponsors.

Our forums are located at www.localracechat.com/forums

We like to think we have a very sophisticated site that gives you control of what you want to see, and how you want to get it. Here is a explanation of how to get around our site.

The first thing is our Main Links Bar located at the top of the forums under the banners.

The second thing I would like to tell you about is what we call the navbar, short for Navigation Bar
http://www.localracechat.com/images/welcome_thread/navbar_1.gif

The Navbar is divided into 4 areas.

1. Top Links Bar (Area where we put extra links)
2. Bottom Links Bar (Common links for the members)
3. Welcome Box (The area where the mood changer is)
4. Breadcrumb (More on this below)

(*) I am not going to explain the Top Links bar to you, as you can just click on the links and they are pretty self explanatory.

(*) The welcome box gives you confirmation that you are logged in showing your user name, the time you last visited, the amount of Unread Pms and the total of all Pms in your Inbox. You can click the Private Messages text to go directly to your Inbox. It also tells you how many posts you have not read since the last time you visited. Just click the Unread Posts Link and the site will display them all for you. Read on and I will tell you how to reset this # to zero..

Bottom Links Explained

Ok here are the details on the Breadcrumb:
First. What the heck is a Breadcrumb?
The term “breadcrumb” derives its name from the Grimm’s fairy tale, Hansel and Gretel. Hansel left a trail of breadcrumbs through the woods as a strategy to find his way back home. Since today’s internet user often has a need to navigate back through a website path, the cyber-version “breadcrumb trail” was named.

Think of it as a history of where you have been. Below are some example of what the Breadcrumb looks like as I click through the site. You can click on any text link to return to that page. You can also click on the navbits to refresh the page.

The Breadcrumb while on the Forums home Page
http://www.localracechat.com/images/welcome_thread/breadcrumb_forumhome.gif
Here the breadcrumb is simple it tells you that you are on the Forums home, Local Race Chat. You can click the little Navbit to refresh the page.

Below is a picture of the Breadcrumb while viewing a thread.

Now here the text become links.
For example you can click the Local Race Chat text and it will take you back to the Forums Home Page.
Clicking the Dirt Forums text will take you to the forums under that Category.
Clicking the Dirt News/Results/Events will take you to that forum. Clicking the Navbithttp://www.localracechat.com/forums/images/bluesaint/misc/navbits_finallink.gif refreshes the page.

I hope this page helps you to understand the navigation of the site. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask..
