Charley, I disagree with the fact that u say a car has to line up nose to tail. I do agree there should not be a big gap but 1 car link should not be a problem. As long as the car following does not drive up beside the front car before the leader takes off no harm no foul. As far as who makes the calls that here nor there to me. All anyone can ask is the call be made as fair & equal as possible......AS I said before u are doing a good job flagging, let the drivers do what they have to, to get their car off and running. Some cars have a better take off than others. If he jumps pass the car up front before the leader starts send him to the rear. But don't penalize someone because someone else fall asleep on the start. Just my 2 cent.:rules:

Just my 2 cent.:rules: The bigger issue here is for the car that is in 12th place..........if the 2-11 all take one car length the guy in 12th place will be more than a half of lap down............Thats why in the drivers meeting I SAY NOSE TO TAIL BUMPER TO BUMPER.........Bottom line is this.......if the car infront of you dont go, you cant run over him.

when the flag drops im going whether the car in front of me goes or not, they will either get run over or left behind better word left in the dust LOL

i think what charlie is trying to say is that you cant lag back and take off before the green so that you have a run on him when you get there. nose to tail until the green flag is displayed. after that, you can do what you want

Wesley glad to see there is some common sense out here. Once the green is displayed you can pass inside or outside. But unitl the green is out it will be nose to tail. This is not something that is new or just at Clary's, It is the same at EVERY RACE TRACK I HAVE BEEN TO.:lrc_rules:

If you are nose to tail, the closer everybody will be to the front. If I were the 12th car, I'd want everybody as close together as possible at the drop of the green so I wouldn't have so much ground to cover.

Okay, We have obviously got people in this that wish they were racers, but have no clue. Hey, racing is a thinking game and when u stop thinking u might as well be asleep.... Antisapation also to me is a big part of thinking/racing. If u guess right it could be of great rewards, but if u guess wrong it could be a heart break. And if u are pushing the car in front of u if he sleeps on the start, then what, there surely no way u will take off until he does.

The other week in one of the classes, I can't remember which one off the top of my head, the leader laid back and laid back. Charlie got the green in the air and 1st place thru 4th place PILED up because the car in the lead didn't go. The 5th place car went on to the front and won by passing them as they crashed. Bumper to bumper, nose to tail.

That,s a good reason to have a little space between cars if car in front of you don,t go then you can go around not having the car behind you in your bumper turning you around. Double file restarts are the way to go . There is racing going on from the start not a line of cars nose to tail following each other.

Charlie and steve are right there shouldnt be excusive lagging but 1/2 car link or so should be there for a driver to do as he should choose and as long as no one put 2or 3 car links the 12th place shouldnt be a half lap down most guy runniong that far back either caused them self to be there or having a bad night with the car.

Yes that is what I mean.........I dont mean push the guy around the track in front of you before the green......... 1/2 Car length MAX!:40vw:
