Its all about a brick and slm. Sorry about the that eric maybe i was the only one at the track last night and saw a car that handled with ease anywhere you wanted it to go. I saw good racin in other divisions oh i forgot noone else saw the other divisions. Still a great job Eric and the 97. Keep on winning and maybe one day the will be other looking at the sub-standard divisions the make up a total race package.

I enjoy all of the divisions as well. There's a world of difference to me between the other divisions and the SLM, but as long as there's a good race, it's all good.

Why is it that someone has always got to bitch about the SLM's? It's NB's money and they chose to put it there.:12Bang:

Lets try and clear up one thing right off the bat. I haven't nor have I heard anyone call any class a lesser class. That's a insult to all the other classes that race hard each and every week. I have and heard them called support classes or lower class, but that is merely a cost and horsepower reference only. You are the only one I have seen that has demeaned not only the Sportsman class but the other divisions by calling them lesser classes.
As for the Sportsman race this week I'm sorry if you feel that they didn't receive the attention or excitement from me this week that you think they should have. I can only assume your post is referring to me, since on Saturday nights Iam the only voice representing the track that is heard. Were you there last week? I don't think anyone could say that the fans or the sportsman division got shortchanged last week. Lots of drama, wrecks and great racing. I know I was excited on the microphone and if it wasn't up to your high standards; I'm sorry!
Now this week the 97 ran away from the field. Yes he was hooked up and hauling the mail. What else was there to say?
As for Nash Brick. I met these guys and found out how much everyone out there loves racing and especially Clary's; from the President down to the lowest hourly paid worker. I'm proud of the relationship that has formed with Nash Brick and Clary's. I put together a advertising package and presented it to them and thankfully they accepted. This money has been a god sent as far as advertising and other promotions. Nash Brick has been working behind the scenes the last 3 years doing great things to help out the track. Not only did they step up with their check book, but they have also made several contact calls to set me up with other companies to inquire about naming rights for other divisions. Without their help a lot of these others I would not have been able to reach.
As far as the Nash Brick Trophy goes, those guys out there came up with that all on their on. I think it is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. The time and effort that goes into making just one is off the chart. They use their material and their man hours to produce each one. The trophy was not part of the original deal, nor are all the items they bring each and every week to pass out to the fans. Just another example of Nash Brick going way beyond the call of duty or the writing in a contract.
Now I have made other proposals to other companies for the other Seven divisions. I should have some good news either by the end of the week or first of the week. There will also hopefully by the end of July be some special higher paying races for some of the other divisions. Remember that Rome was not built in a day. If you are anyone else has any ideas or know of a company that would like to buy some naming rights to a certain division or even buy a billboard, I will be glad to sit down with them and go over the proposals!!!!!

it is NOT just about the SLM and it is not JUST a brick!
JH and i were talking before the race last night about how good the racing is in ALL the divisions.
i have posted on here earlier today about the quality of the racing in the other divisions as well!
not trying to get anything started or step on anyones toes - - - we do get on here and hype the SLM and the trophy for several reasons - - we have thousands of dollars invested in this venture!
we have nothing to do with track ownership or promotion. however, as brickburner stated above, nash brick solicits for sponsors of the others divisions almost daily! we ask other companies to follow our lead and invest in the local community by sponsoring a division at clary’s. we think we are close on one and they can hype the division of their choice! we pay for people from these other companies to attend the races - just trying to get them hooked... we also get give-aways from these other companies to bring to the track and they are given to the fans of all divisions - not just the slm.
we do hype the trophy - as far as we can find, this is the only trophy available made from the racing surface! we have over $300 invested in each trophy before it is fired, with no guarantee that it will make it out of the kiln! we have had a couple explode during firing so far - - just like a driver putting their car on the track, something may happen and you have nothing to show for your time and money!
we also do hype the "nash brick super late models @ clary’s speedway" because that is where our advertising money is. but, if you notice, we never advertise the slm without including "clary’s speedway" - - "clary’s speedway" includes everybody in every division! it would be a very short night and we would not get much for our money if only the "nash brick super lates" were running! we understand how the other divisions can feel slighted from time to time at other tracks - - we felt that clary’s had always done a good job of being fair and balanced. that played a part in our deciding to enter this venture.
believe it or not, we do pull for the 97! he is sponsored by one of our most important suppliers! brickburner would not be able to fire our brick without the sawdust from arcola! we call Gary on a regular basis and comment on the car and Eric (all good of course, like his great sportsmanship and driving skill!)
so, i hope this helps! it is not JUST about the slm and JUST a brick - - it is about supporting our local community, a sport we love, advertising our company and selling some brick.
jw
ps - about selling some brick - - we have about 8 million bricks in inventory, the boss would LOVE to find them a "HOME"! - no pun intended....
jh, i just seen your post after writing all this - - one correction - - just as clary’s doesn’t have a lower or lesser class, nash brick doesn’t have lower employees! i feel as strongly about my employees as i do my racing! i have the privilege of working the greatest bunch of employees in any company any where! we run 24 hours a day 7 days a week and they are there anytime we need them until the work is done! it is hot, hard, honest work and they do a great job - - i’ll put my folks up against any brickyard out there - bar none!!!!!

I personally am bias to the Supers myself. Although I never pass down watching a good support class race. Sometimes the support classes make me go home thinking I got my money's worth when only 5 or 6 Supers showed and ran a train race.

Sometimes the support classes make me wish I had a knife and I could stab myself in the neck to take away the pain.. Only the ones where you have a caution every lap, the rest are kool.

There is good racing in all the classes including bomber. I watch em all. I am just glad we all have a place to race. All the classes are important to the survival of a track. One class does not support the whole operation. It requires a combined effort from all racers and fans to keep one going. I think the staff has done a good job overall and are trying to do the best they can. Sure there have been a couple of calls that may not have been 100% right but they are humans and will make a few mistakes. Thanks to all involved with making it happen every saturday night. Your efforts are making for a good show each week.

That is some funny stuff right there.:laying20laughing: But I will say I have seen MANY LATE MODLE RACES that have had as many if not more cautions than the support classes.:BustinAss:

I believe they are talking about me. But they obviously don't know me and now the time an effort I spend promoting our support, well lets say ALL OF CLARY"S DIVISIONS I had just made the statement to some first time fans before the racing even started sat night about how good our other divisions were and they were gonna enjoy the show regardless of the SLM car count. I also in a conversation with Dan Blaylock after the race made the statement "Clary's was about the only track that the Other Divisions did anything to excite me". So I know what I feel about all the divisions at Clary's and I try and do a good job of letting that excitement come out over the MIC. If for some reason a few don't feel I am doing that I apologize. Iam open to sit and talk about any suggestions anyone may have to increase the car count and sponsorship in any division.

Well JH it seems to me that the 97 team must not hear what I hear at Clarys when your annoucing it seems to me that you have just as much excitment for every class when your talking about them on the mic. All I can say to the 97 guy is you need to go get your ears checked out.
:wings_hmm: "Lesser Class Cars"
Do you have any idea how many fans come week after week the watch the "lesser class cars?" Some of the best racing at the track happens in the "lesser class car" divisions. Hopefully, you will redefine the term "lesser class cars." That is certainly an insult to the drivers that come week after week to put on a good show.

NOBODY TO MY KNOWLEDGE AFFILLIATED WITH THE TRACK HAS EVER CALLED THEM "A LESSER DIVISION" this term was "coined" by a poster here on LRC.
From a tracks standpoint the more cars in the "SUPPORT DIVISION" the more NET income for the track. :smiley_691:
Let's see. CLR runs the Supers on a very limited bases, Fayetville and Dublin runs them every other saturday night. The other classes runs every week.
Support Classes??????
Don't get me wrong, I, like John, enjoy watching them all, and there's nothing like the groung pounding sound of some of those SLMs.

Its like a team one person cannot do it by themselves it has to be a group effort. in this case the slm cannot keep the track going by themselves it has to be slm and the rest of the classes working together to make the track thrive and therfore will come out on top or winning

TO: 97dirtmagic- If you won't to read more about the lower classes then go to the race,Keep up with all the happings & results then come home and POST THEM on LRC then the ones that won't to give there 2 cents or just to talk about the racing in the lower class can.Don't BASH the ones that post about the SLM just because someone started a post about them . If you do that then you hove nothing to GRIP about other than what happened in in the class that you like.

I've said it before and as long as there are people around that only like the featured division, I'll keep on saying it. The people involved in the "non-SLM" divisions work every bit as hard as the people involved in the SLM and spend as much of their own money (in porportion to what they have). The main difference often times is money though, whether its sponsorship or how much you have in your bank account. I enjoy watching all the divisions. Sometimes I like watching certain divisions less, but that usually has more to do with low car count and when the field gets so spread out that noone is in contact with anybody else (and once in a while at some places that is the "featured" division). My favorite division to watch often turns out to be the feature division (the SLM in this area), but it depends on the track and situation. If the SLMs have 3 or 4 cars and they spread out and race around all night with 20 car lengths between each car, I'd much rather watch pure stocks, four cylinders, or any other division that had say 15-18 cars with battles for the lead and for other positions.
While I'm on the subject (sort of), congratulations to all of last night's winners - Kent Wright, Buddy Isles Sr, Kelly Moore, Robbie Morris, Brad Thiede, Brian Farrow, Brian Theide, AND their car owners and teams. :FirstPrize:

Well I took it personal. with all the people in attendance at the track on Saturday nights there is only one person that be heard and that's me. I LOVE doing what I do for everyone. So if some said the excitement wasn't there and that someone thanks less of the divisions other than the SLM's I just assumed they were speaking about me.
Anyone who knows me would tell you how much I love racing of almost any kind, anywhere. If you don't believe them just ask my wife how much she hates how much I love racing lol
If they were not directed at me and my replies caused this thread to drag out for over two weeks then I apologize. I think every one's position of the "other" not support, not lower and certainly not lesser divisions should be clear by now.
