Neither do you red dust. why waste fuel to ride around if your not trying to win? this was a post from Dirtchaser in another thread.
first of all dont talk about another racer or make fun of them if they are not racing for the win every week, atleast they are out there trying and putting forth the effort. and if your not trying to run the best you can why would you even want to spend the time and money to do this so Dirtchaser i think you should keep these type of comments to yourself IMOA. as stated earlier in this thread this is only his 4th or 5th race i mean it takes time and experience it doesnt happen over night but i guess Red Dust shut you up and put this to rest tonight with his win. Congratulations go get em next week man.

I will say you did a helluva good job of driving last night. Now see that,s driving to win not ride around and don,t it feel alot better knowing you won the race and not just in it? See now maybe you will have this drive that guys like the K99 has every week. That,s makes the fun even better knowing you won. Keep it up. You will win more.

I must have missed something, Didn"t know Hansen was now running the show now... But I do think the track is doing a good job get the show over at a good time, not so late as in the past. I think the time to thank the fans & sponsors is great, because without them there is no racing. Also I think Hansen has done a good job in the flag stand, but he needs to stay up there and let the drivers drive the cars. Like the delay the other night trying to tell Trevor how to drive his car was unnessessary. If the leader chooses to start at the same point ever time I think Trevor was doing the right thing, lag back and get that quick jump. I never say him besde the leader before #97 started. However after making him move up it cause a pileup involving the top 3 cars.

Iam just messing with my buddy here Mr Hansen. But yes pretty much once the action starts Charlie is pretty much running the show. There is much conciliation that goes on on with Dwayne and Doug. But Charlie is the main reason we have been running smooth and getting out at a very good time.
The wreck in the sportsman had nothing to do with CHARLIE He wasn't driving anyone of those cars!!!!!!! At no track I have ever been to is any car allowed to lag back on a restart! Most times when a car is lagging back that's whats causes a pile up. The others have no clue from 3rd on back when to re-fire. Now Iam not placing blame on anyone from the other week, but it wasn't charlie's fault.
But were me and Charlie do disagree is with not having the winners interview on the front stretch. The fans on the grandstand side want and deserve a chance to see the joy and excitement when a driver wins and the driver also needs to get his crew and sponsors some air time.
Now I have been picking on Nevin about his interview Saturday night, cause I thought it was great. It showed the excitement and joy that comes with winning a race. I am sure the next time he will be as smooth as a seasoned veteran and as fast as that car was there will be a next time real soon.

Guess you have been missing something for two years now........As Marcia & DeWayne will tell you I HANDLE ALL OF THE ON TRACK OPERATIONS FROM THE DRIVERS MEETING till THE LAST CHECKERED FLAG FALLS.....
Single file means bumper to bumper nose to tail............It is not fair for the cars behind someone that is lagging back to get a jump..........NOBODY CAUSED TREVOR TO RUN OVER THE 97 BUT TREVOR!
It is my job to talk to the drivers and I will talk to them as I SEE NECESSARY!

I DONT DISAGREE WITH INTERVIEWS IN FRONT OF THE GRANDSTAND.......Remember I was on your side of the mic for many years....I think the drivers and sponsors deserve some AIR TIME.....
I do however think that you should be down there BEFORE THE DRIVER is even out of the car........I know your waiting on checks, but we need to find someone to DELIVER them to you, or maybe just write Mini Stock 4's, Pure Stock v-8, Super Late Model.....ect...... in the pay to the order of line.

Get the races started @ 7 and wrapped up @ 11. 7/11. If I can get back to Raleigh by midnight, there's a good chance that I can get more folks to tag along with me to a race AND there's a good chance that I'll be able to keep going myself.
I think you did a great job last Saturday. I like seeing "winner's circle" on the front stretch because that's about the only time the fans that aren't in the pits will see the drivers and hear them speak. It seems like most of the wasted time there is dealing with loading the family and friends up on the car and driving them around the track.
In any case, I was expecting the actual races to begin at 7pm. What I saw when I got there were a lot of hot laps. I'd suggest getting the hot laps out of the way before 7. Get the heats and qualifying going no later than seven. That probably would have got folks out of there well before 11 pm. I'm probably missing something important though.

CLR is on my list. I'm hitting as many tracks as I can this summer. I'm thinking about catching up with Lucky13 in Fayetteville this weekend. Then I skip a weekend before catching the Hooters race at Southern National the following week. Maybe I can try to swing by CLR the week after the Hooters race.
My perception, at least based on what I'm reading on this forum, is that Clary's is the best bet overall for dirt racing in this area. I guess I'll have more of an opinion by the end of the month. :dirt_race:
When I head out to CLR, I'll let you know. I'm looking forward to meeting the folks here on the forum. Thanks.

Come on down to FMS this weekend, should be some good racing and a good field of cars plus there will be a $5,000 to win slm race so that is even more incentive to catch your first big race with somewhere around 25 or so cars

This is VERY EASY to do if Clary's was an asphalt track. Asphalt racing is usually very predictable. Wake County Speedway is the best at getting a show over on time.
But with dirt, you can not start much earlier than 6:30pm with the heat of the summer. (Reason for track prep, watering and a bunch of other things that I am not that knowledgable in) So when you go to ANY DIRT track dont expect to see the features starting before 8:00 pm............ Also if your gonna compare Clary's to like Wake County.......Remember we are RUNNING 7 Classes not 4 like Wake County. If we only ran 4 classes we would be done by 10:00 10:30. :smiley_397:

Nope, not comparing Clary's to Wake County. There's NO comparison. Wake is the closest track to me and I really don't have any desire to go back.
I hear what you're saying about the differences in the starting times based on dirt prep. It is what it is, but I still think it's kind of unfortunate. I'd be willing to bet that if dirt tracks *could* get the features started at 7 and wrapped up no later than 11, there'd be more fans in the stands. But what the hell do I know?

I agree and trust me there is nobody in those stands that want to leave by 11:00 pm more than me.:19mauer: Just ask JHOfficial!:icon_pimp:

Yeah, I'm actually thinking that I'll grab a place to stay down there Saturday night. I doubt I'll make it to FMS very often. :wings_hmm:

nobody likes to get home at 1 or 2 but sometimes stuff happens and the race runs late just think if you had to work on the cars all day then race and pull a car trailer home that night trust me we the drivers would love for it end at 10 or 10.30 but its not going to happen. Jerry Mckeel Jr

It sure would help the process!:VeryHappy:If you won't to speed things up when the yellow comes out the next lap STOP THE CARS ON THE BACK STRACH AND LINE THEM UP THERE instead of riding round round & round trying to get 1 car in the right place. After they are lined up & you and the scorers are POS. there are right and 1 gets out of line put him in the back. If that don't work BLACK FLAG & stop scoring him.Don't stop the race to try and get him off the track , Thats wasting time JUST STOP SCORING HIM. Trust me next week they will have learned.

But what if you stop scoring that car and he takes out the leader and is not even a "LEGAL" car on the track? Or spins out and causes the leader to lose his 5 car lead? I would rather take a few mins and get him off the track.

You got that right. :icon_agreed:

I think its funny as hell that people you see every week at the track that are so nice to you and you think are good people will be the first ones to talk trash about you when you get a car running the same class as people they are with. I think these people know who they are.

I have tried to tell people that all they have to do is have a track official on a 4 wheeler with a headset come out and pick up the leader as they are rolling around and he rides beside them and has them in place in no time. I saw this at another track and it works great there. They are in line in a lap or less. BUT.................
