View Full Version : Race starting time
I'm planning my first visit to Clary's which also happens to be my first dirt track racing experience. I can't wait to see the action but I can't find anything on the Clary's site that indicates when the racing actually starts! :) I see the stands open at 3pm but I'm guess the actual races don't begin for several hours after that.
Also, any pointers on where to sit? I'm pretty new to racing in general so I'm guessing it's all a matter of personal preference, but I'd be interested in what you fine folks have to say.
Thanks!

The higher up you sit the better the view.. Hope you enjoy the racing..
Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to it. I've only been to two tracks- Orange County and Wake County- both, of course, being asphalt. I really enjoyed Orange County and plan to go often. I was floored by the roar of the late models there. For some reason, Wake County didn't have the growl that I experienced at Orange County. I hope the cars at Clary's are loud. :)
I'll probably make the trip by myself. I might be able to talk my wife into going if we can find a babysitter. :) I'd be interested in meeting others from the Raleigh area that enjoy the races at Clary's.

The cars at Clarys are loud, especially when the The Nash Brick Super LM's roll out!

Man are you in for a treat then.. When them Lm's come by you your jaw will open, but be careful you might get dirt in it..LOL.. Pick you up a pair of goggles, I don't wear them sitting up top but if you sit lower you might get some dust in your eyes.. Then you can go back and tell everyone that you saw a 700hp car sideways in the turns..

I am from Raleigh...........Wake County dont have that Roar because all of the cars have a TRACK MUFFLER. The county has a noise ordinance, and has come down real hard on the track..... You know those people that decided to move in a subdivision right next to the track that was build like 5 years ago......... forget the track that has been there for over 30.
If the car counts are GOOD in all of the classes you will be in for a big treat......Nothing beats DIRT racing.:icon_beerchug:

Mufflers?!? Well, that certainly explains it. :) I thought maybe I was losing even more of my hearing.
Well, here's hoping for good car counts. I can't wait to check it out! I'll make sure to bring my glasses to keep the dust out of my eyes.

I'll visit County Line soon. My mission is to attend a race at *every* track in the state, asphalt and dirt. :)
I see you're in Wake Forest. I'm no mechanic, and I'm usually pretty busy on the weekends, but if you ever need an extra set of hands on a race day, let me know. I'll see if I can lend a hand and learn something in the meantime.
