SLM Weight Rule Change

A lot of drivers have said the reason they are not coming to Clary's to race is because the wieght rule is different from the tracks they run so the weight rule for the Supers has been changed to

All Steel Motors 2200 lbs.
Steel Block Aluminum Head Motors 2250 lbs.
All Aluminum Motors 2300 lbs.

UDTRA approved bodies.

Body must appear stock.
No side spoilers.
Rear spoiler height 8” x 72”Engine And Weight

Engine location: #1 spark plug set back 6 inches from center of the ball joints, ½ inch tolerance.
Must have weight decal on side of car.
All cars with steel block and steel head must weigh 2200 lbs.
All cars with steel block and aluminum head must weigh 2250 lbs.
All aluminum motors must weigh 2300 lbs. Fuel

No coolers allowed on fuel system.
Racing Fuel Only.Tires

May run any tire.

There has never been a 50lbs up front weight rule at Clary's......

the weight rule was changed to get in line with other SLM weights so that if a car chooses to come run at Clary's they don't have to add a hundred pounds just to come to Clary's.......

I think the weight rule change was a very smart decision on the tracks part. Some drivers were saying the reason they were not racing at Clary's was because they did not want to add weight, now they have no excuse not to come run. Unless they are just scared to be out run by some local competition or just flat out refuse to support any track other than their home one.

I spoke with three or four of the teams from FMS when I was down there at the Lucas race and that is what they told me. I passed the information on to Dwayne and I think he did the smart thing and made the weight rule the same as Dublin, FMS, and the Clash.

And look what we saw Saturday.........Roger Lucas showed, and he was one that mentioned it to me. We also saw the Mason Racing Crowd, and Ricky Bohan.

So Now lets see some more!!!!!!!!!!:animal85:

All run up front at other tracks and havent been to clarys this year. Neil Sykes came and got it last time.

hey jh i will be there next weekend wont make it this week cause my rack got messed up sat at 311 but clarys is my next place to run cant wait till i can run there been wanting to since last year

yep that deal is dead. Tired of begging Guess you could say I woke up and smelled the coffee. We have a great field of "Nash Brick SLM's" Every week. If others decide to come and play great and if not not oh well, they are still more than welcome, but anymore special funds will be available to all the teams or most of the teams. Iam looking for a sponsor now for a first time winners bonus for this year. Any driver that hasn't won a race this year at clary's is eligible. All I need now is the $250. Any takers? lol

Also don't forget the pole award this weekend, every team is capable of getting that $100. Iknowthat doesn't sound like a lot but every little bit helps right?????

We would love to come down but can't afford it right now. We were supposed to race at CLR this weekend but that's not happening. Maybe we can come down in about a month or so.
