this one will go poof...... you can't say anything bad about fmr... don't you know that?
your right it did go poof but only because it's just a smart ass remark to the question being asked..
Since none of you have anything good to say about fork mountain and only complain about the track I will be going over the threads here and just remove the trouble makers from the FMR forums..

The schedule change is because, the car counts are low and the fan count is low, and French has put so much into having a smooth race track to race on that his finances are low, and unlike the previous owner he's not going to stick the guys on money who race there, so in order to make the money work he had to work the schedule so the track could make it til the season end. In the past 4 races he's in the hole about $12,000.00, so that is why he said if he can't pay the drivers to race then he's not gonna ask them to race. Everyone thinks that to have a race you just open the gate and go racin, but in reality that's far from the truth. All you guys should go up and sit down with French and have him show you the books, and what putting on a show costs, then tell me how long you could stand to lose three grand a week and survive. I don't think he had planned on makin money the first year or two, but he was expecting more support from the drivers, but alot of them want to sit back and critisize him for trying to do good things for the ones who really want to race.. Why not try for once to show a little appreciation.. And have fun doing it.

Very sad that a local track can't find race fans to support it. I could see it if there was no effort from the promoter to make improvements, but not the case here. French and crew have worked long and hard to give the racers, and "fans" a good racing enviroment. Too bad the track is located in a spot where people don't appreciate anything much, except maybe their own selfish needs. Hell, I heard some low life hillbilly threw a bunch of wood screws on the track at the end of the show Sat. night! That goes to show what a bunch of clowns French has to deal with. I figured a race track attracted for the most part "race fans", not a bunch of local trash! I know there are good decent race fans around. Time to show the man some respect, and appreciation. Don't let a few jerks ruin it for all of us "race fans".

Well said johnny, and those screws that you are referring to were threw out on the track during the heat race or start of the feature races, cause they were packed into the track. He's up to about 15 pounds worth of them now. Guess he's not failing at operating the track as fast as some would like, so now he's got someone who wants to take out his drivers too. He's up there with metal detectors and magnets in 95 degree heat searching for the rest of the presents left for him and his drivers, so I really hope the one who did this can sleep well knowing that next time he comes up to race he won't get his own tires cut up. But, thanks though, cause it gives him a chance to throw out some of the rocks that could cause a problem too.I don't think they realize that they are not going to beat the man into doing something he don't think is in the best interest of the track, but please keep trying, it makes for good topics on the forums.

You are probably right Fireball about the topic issue. But just pisses me off that some cowards that have a beef are not MAN enough to bring it up to the track face to face... Bunch of little wimps that have to hide in the shadows, and do things behind your back! French has said all along that if you have problems or suggestions, come talk to him, and if it is good for the track, and racing all helpful suggestions are appreciated. But talk to him during the week. Not on race day when he is way too busy, and can't change things right then and there.

I wish you would rethink your statement, you can't base information from not even 1% of the fans or racers, we race every week and we also go in the hole money wise, but we don't do it for the money, we do it because we enjoy racing. Everyone I've talk to thinks French is doing a great job, don't let one or two people give you a bad point of view of what he's doing or done. Also local fans won't show if they believe their being called "local trash" for going. As far as support for the track, I support the track and the reason for low fans is because comments on this board and French running Saturday nights. He has 2 other tracks to compete against. If he would try a Friday night race I believe more cars and fans will show. I hope everything will eventually work out.

Everything is a catch 22. No cars=no fans or No fanss=no money to pay the cars. So whata do? You do like it seems french has done it make a effort to do what ever you can afford to do. Then the Fans and Teams suck it up for a while an show up and do all they cann to show support, it has to be a to way street. As for friday nights, did the track make any money last year running friday night? If it did wouldnt it still be oak level? There is some truth to the number of tracks in the area running on saturday night, but thats not a complete excuse. Here in eastern NC there are 3 tracks in about the same travel range as up there and all three are holding their heads above water, not gettin rich, but they are getting by. They all three have a strong loyal diehard fan base an are taking steps to increase that, but I know for a fact we at Clarys have some great fans and race teams that are going above an beond just showing up every staurday night to help out. Sounds like french needs to fin some folks up there like ours.

i have a UCAR that i planned to drive this year but do to fincancial debt, i had to delay my start. i had intentions to visit as a spectator this weekend to see how OLR/FMR is doing. but to hear of the "screws" incedent, i hope someone will come forward with proof-evidence or even an eye witness so French could press charges. that is low down BS! if you don't like FMR, goto another track. i personally don't see eye-to-eye with French's views but i don't wish harm at the track either. it is taking me more money to get to French's safety rules, but i am intending to run at FMR(sometime soon?!?!):exactly:

I wasn't going to get into this BS anymore but I came up to race and had a problem after practice but was gonna come back. But if I am going to be called hillbilly and local trash I may have to rethink my intentions. Yes it was sorry for anyone to throw srews out on the track and that is hurting drivers more than French. So johnny if you don't like us hillbilly's stay north or wherever you're from hate for some to rub off you. RaceJunkie you said you was gonna police this crap I think them remarks was just as bad as what everyone is saying. This is what's wrong with this situation we have a mini civil war going on here on this site and it's putting a bad taste in people's mouth. So keep it up and see where it gets you maybe you can import somemore out of state drivers. Some of you are running and telling French about this board I hope you are telling the truth and not just stirring it up and making it stink more than it is. I wish him all the best to make it work but more crap like this and there is no way it's going to die down so cut it out.

I'm sorry you misunderstood my comments. I was referring to the "few" individuals that are responsible for that incident. No way was I calling the true race fan any names. You folks are doing a great job of supporting French, and the track. Keep it up. As for the wise guys... well that's just total ignorance on their part, and they should be identified, and dealt with.

Actually no one is running and telling French anything, he and his family check the site on a regular basis. You would know that if you ever talk to him.

I didn't take it as a personal remark towards everyone as durtyjohnny35 stated above..
I am not saying no one can voice their opinions it's the constant bickering and bitching that gets me.. :smellie45:

correct me if i'm wrong , but are you saying a fan threw 15 pounds of screws on the track?
I would think that 15 pounds of screws coming out of the stands would be seen by someone....I know if i saw one handful thrown on the track i would take care of the little a$$hole that did it MYSELF...
Sounds to me like a disgruntled driver maybe dropping them out of his car or putting them on the track somehow?
Sounds stupid i know, but there are all kinds of people in this world...

I'm saying it had to have been a driver, because the screws were found in turns one and two on the track, and there is no stands or fans near that part of the track. The tapes from the race are being reviewed and hopefully it aws caught on tape. The one who put them there will eventually surface, all crap does, LOL.:Kill1:

well, no matter what happens we will be at every race......we love the track & always have spent money there...last week we bought sweatshirts from the VSS , food & drinks & even had a couple friendly wagers in the stands(shhhhhh)...i know the LM's will come back sometime, so we'll keep our fingers crossed.....i don't agree with everything but i understand what the deal is.....i just wish the events could move along a little quicker...we don't mind staying until 12 or 1:00am as long as racing is going on, it will all work out i'm sure....:05Cool:

French has told me that he was trying to give the guys who keep saying they are coming the benefit of the doubt and not eliminate the crates and the super streets, but i know what you mean about moving the show along. But the last couple races has been late due to getting the track in great shape, I think french worries a little too much about what the drivers are going to say about an already perfect track. The classes that don't pick up this year I feel certain will be eliminated next season, and that will be of the non-supporting drivers doing, not French's. Noone likes to sit and watch a 20 lap two car race.

Sorry durtyjohnny I also misunderstood your post, I agree with what you are saying. The ignorance is what is giving the track its bad name. As for the screws, I was wondering if by any chance they were left on back or top of a car by mistake and when they exited the pits they rolled off the car. They could have been simply working on the car and forgot about them. Now that they think they will get in big trouble for that mistake they're not going to come forward about it.

OK Johnny understood just wanted to make sure. Racerwife for your info I did talk to French for about 2 hrs Sat. morning while I was getting my car teched and he told me himself that he does not read the internet that other people told him what was on it. So alike alot of other times on here by everybody you assume that I didn't know what I was talking about but I did. The best thing for everyone to do is quit posting a bunch of BS on here and try to let some of this crap die down, if not it is not gonna help French or anyone else that has anything to do with this track.
