View Full Version : question about scoring

i know that they dont have but one person doing the scoring but can someone explain to me how it is done? i noticed in the super late model race, Ronnie Boykin #36 avoided a 5 car pile up. He was placed behind every single car in that wreck. Then another incident he spun to avoid the wreck with 2 other cars and he was placed behind them. i thought if you spun to avoid the wreck you got your spot back and if you completely missed the wreck you dont go to the rear.:confuzeld:

Same thing was said about the 23 of Pope. Why was he also allways put in the rear after all the wrecks?

Cant answer all the questions about the order. But they looked like good calls from what I seen. As far as the 23 I belive he was waving alot of those cars around.

You can always stop and ask what the deal is, and you can go to the booth after the race and go over the score sheets......if I has access to the sheets, I would sure try and figure it out for you........

i saw the same thing they kept putting the 36 in the rear the last time 2 cars wrecked in front of him and i guess he could not get his car started so they penalized him for that and put him in the rear they need some help scoring me and 2 of my friends had a hard time keeping up with the positions that the cars were in.. better luck next time ronnie..

Not sure if this helps........................

If the leader CROSSES THE START FINISH LINE and the accident happens behind him, the lap is scored so the rest of the cars will be lined up as they cross. Even if they just spun to avoid the accident.

I know this happend once when the 28 and a couple other cars spun in turn 3 & 4, the leader was already across the line start finish

If the leader does not cross the start finish line you go back to the last scored lap.

Do the people involved in the caution not go to the rear?

Yes the cars that were involved in the accident go to the rear, in both cases.:hanged:

If a car spins and does not make contact then he would get his spot back, unless the leader ALREADY crossed the Start/Finish before the caution came out, then the cars behind the leader will be scored as they come across the line.

When cars go off the track into the pits, should they get their spots back?

put all car numbers in a can and draw whatever how many numbers 2 or 3. that way, no one knows if they are going to tech or not. Also you may have a losing cheater (one that never wins) that never gets caught, but if his number is in the can he might think twice the next time.
