fms website says admission for this weekend will be $20 for stands and $30 for pits and vip. why they always raising the prices to get in for more than normal purse amounts only for slm what about other classes they would like to run for a little extra once in a while to.dms never goes up on there prices when they have big races and they dont have near the support fms does plus dms gives out winners trophys and fms doesnt?? Last why you gonna go up on admission when slm races for more money but it is not sanctioned but when they dont run you dont go down on the prices at all.:i_dont_believ_it: :wink2:

Because they are a business?
FMS sets admission prices exactly as high as they hope the public will continue to pay to get in. It isn't that suprising that a more popular race costs more - in fact, it makes sense. A Corvette costs more than a Chevette, and it has nothing to do with the cost of the materials used to make the cars. Your question presumes that the public is somehow entitled to a race ticket at a price the public believes they should pay. The public always has perfect freedom of choice - if the price is higher than you deem fair, don't pay it.

I know most are still going to pay it but that aint the point give us fans and racers a break once in a while i mean when they dont run slm it still cost the same thing to get in dont you think they make enough extra $ then to leave the prices the same for a slm race. and share the wealth with the big money races for ps and ss there schedule has no big races scheduled for ss all year and only 1 for ps what up with that. and how many for slm which only run every other week

It's a business designed to make a profit. Whether or not enough fans are willing to pay the price of admission is the only point that matters

Do I think the track makes enough 'extra' money? Therre is no such thing as extra money, and I honestly have no idea what kind of profit FMS makes. It simply makes no difference. Either I am willing to pay the cost of entry in exchange for getting into the race, or I am not. After all, if FMS losses money on a race night, I doubt you would favor passing a hat to make up the difference for them.

PS and SS don't put cheeks in the seats. Other than the driver entry fees, those two races amount to losses for FMS. They serve to round out the program, and extend the hours the concession stands stay open. I'm a fan of the PS and SS - they are entertaing for me to watch - but alone, they wouldn't draw enough fans to open the track. The SLM races contribute enough to the bottom line to justify the greater purses, and the greater purses are the enticement for the SLM drivers to travel to FMS.

Well the price to get in doesn't really matter...it's all about if you get your money's worth as far as I am concerned. The last Fayetteville race that Jeff Smith won coming from the rear was worth way more than 15.00. I felt I should have gave them more money on my way out. The last Clash race last year was great...worth way more than the price of admission. I'm 37, been to well over 300 races in my life and that race was easily in my top 5 of all time. Bring in 100 Super Late Models, charge me 50.00 to get in if needed and let the dirt fly.

I think thats where you might be a little WRONG......if the SUPER'S put so much money in thier pocket they would be RUNNING THEM WEEKELY.......It is the classes with the lowest payout that make the track money.....Turst me I have a little experience with this.

Yea Charlie thats someone from fms...contradicting what they said! The staff got together decided to go up on addmission to cover for the extra 4...four.. hours the lights will be on and the extra payout. Three weeks ago when the slm ran it was not over untill 2.30.

If they make so much $ running slm why are they running them every other week i believe i would run what brought in the most $ every week dont you think and it seems its not slm b/c there is just as many fans for a regular show without slm as there is with slm and also if they are bringing so much money in why are they cutting them out completely next year except for maybe a few clash races or something. there is gonna be steel head lm and crate lm why cause the purse will not be as much and they will still have good car counts in both which means they will save more $. so i would say the other divisions is what brings the $ in and maybe ps and ss bring in just as much so i believe slm is the new support division and the other classes have to make up for what they lose in slm. oh and there are cheeks in the seats (quote) lol that dont even go to see slm they go to see ps and ss. so put that in your pipe and smoke it. It has been only 25 every other week before when they ran the slm execpt when they ran the clash it was only 30. You have got to give to FMS as the crowd is still there even though he only runs slm every other week because he plays on words and changed the LLM to Late Models. Most peole only pay attention to titles they are use to hearing and Late models is the only name that has not changed in the 30 years I have been going to racing. :08Choke:

FMS is ripping us off. Theres a track up in VA that has $10,000 to win shows that only charge $20 for stands and $25 for pits. This weeks race at FMS is only $4000

Zilla go to VA to watch the race then. This is called a Free Enterprise System. Price is determined by supply and demand. The consumer will only pay for what theyconcider to be worth their money obviously if you are going to FMS it is worth the money you pay or you would not go. So GB pay you money sit down, shut up, eat a couple more Hot Dogs, and enjoy the show.

DMS has to give away tickets to their races and FMS Races and other stuff to get people in there hoping to get something for their money other than watchin the train go round the track.

WoW. I hope all of the tracks do well and we keep them running. Who cares who has better racing, more cars or even pays better. Figure out which one floats your boat and go. It seems that several times every season this conversation kicks off. Dublin vs. FMS vs. Clary's, lets just get over it already. It's like television, if you like NBC then watch it and if you don't, turn it. If you like Fox then watch it, etc.,
Don't hate the players, hate the game.
