Doesn't exactly seem like the best way to build a fan base. Having to watch the internet to see when the next race is gonna be....

When the cars can show that they want to race every week and quit complaining about purse and rules(which they all said they wanted enforced) and get down to some racin the way it used to be he might just be able to open the gates every week. For adult race drivers you are the biggest bunch of whinners I've ever seen. Quit complaining and show the man you want to race and come out just one night and support the track in the pit or the stands and see what kind of impact it might have, you don't know till you try..

Just doing what he can to keep things going. He can't continue to shell out $2 to $3 thousand a week from his own pocket just to pay expenses. Could you? He's trying, give him some credit. Geez!:smashfreakB:

I don't see how not racing for 3 weeks is gonna keep from having to pay money out of his own pocket. If it cost him $3,000 this week, and it would cost him $3,000 next week, then its still gonna cost $3,000 three weeks from now.
I wanna see the track survive too. But I don't see what will keep drivers from going elsewhere to a track that they can race at weekly.

he isnt paying that much to race every week.he said that but that is bs because really way does he pay that much.insurance thing i dont understand because he isnt responsible if the driver gets hurt because you sign a waiver before you race every week.he doesnt pay the help anything only voluntary help.so where foes the money go....

Lot of people dont relize that a waiver helps with liabilty, but they really arnt worth the paper they are written on. A good lawyer can find so many ways around them.

Still have to have insurance, it's in the neighborhood of $800 to $1000 per event. Basically the waiver says you agree not to try to sue the track and that you are ok with letting the insurance take care of it.

Don't mean to bust your bubble but you must not pay insurance on your personals, Car home or whatever!!!! No insurance and that means no race and guess what I bet he has electricity to what do ya think??? If ya didn't have to have insurance I bet there would be tracks everywhere cause Insurance ain't cheap espically at a race track!! Just ask a track owner on this board and I feel sure they can give you a ballpark figure why he's paying money out of his pocket!!!

Alot of good discussion here on whether he's paying what he says he is and what it costs him to open the gates for a race but you know what, the proof is in the pudding, just ask the man what he pays and he will sit down with you and swhow you the numbers he don't try to hide anything, he showed me to the penny where his money goes, and the first week he went in his pocket for $3450.00, the second race it cost him $3200.00, now you tell me how many weeks can you stand to do that? He told everyone at the drivers meetings what he started with money wise and what he has left, so if he ran every week at this loss. he could stay open about 6 weeks. Now, keep in mind he spent well over $300,000.00 for this track not including the improvements he's made all around, so before you kick a lame horse, you need to decide whether you would risk every penny of your worth for a bunch of money hungry whinners like I see every time I visit this site. If you have nothing good to say check out other tracks and find everything wrong with them and get back to me.

Holy geez man what is up with that? Where does all the money go? Sounds like my wife, and kids! There is an expense in doing business with the public that some people just don't realize. Yes, insurance for one. Advertising, Electricity, Paying for all the food, and drink. That by the way has to be thrown out every week if not sold. And we haven't even had a car roll on the track yet! Fuel for all the equipment to get the track ready, almost forgot that. And I'm sure other things I failed to mention. So I would say at this point you have already laid out $2-$3 thousand. So where does all the money go?

Hey Papa,

where are you racing this year?
you were the track champ last year, why don't you come down to the Oak one weekend & show these rookies how it's done?:click:

I think Mr. P. Smurf is still trying to get over the fact that the last promoter screwed him out of his trophy, and dinner as track champ. So he is taking it out on French, because French didn't honor him. Like it was French's obligation to right the wrongs of the past.:14NotWorthy:

Can't run on Saturdays, I have other commitments.

I'm not taking anything out on French. I'm just not going to go thru it again. If things pick up and it gets better, I may be down there. But so far its looking like its gonna be another repeat of the last 2 seasons there. Apparently French thinks so too if he can only afford to run every 3 weeks. Say what you will, but I don't think only racing every third week will be good for business... JMO.
