I recieved a couple of calls yesturday about the track. A rumor has been started and is going around that simple isn't true. Gary and Alesia are working as fast and hard as they can to get RTR open as soon as possible. Gary spoke with the power company again this week and the answer he got was they would be there in the next couple of weeks. (But yet the power company gets in a hurry wanting our payments.) Rolling Thunder Raceway will be opening in 2007 , and as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Wayne

Hello everyone! I don't know where rumors come from but this one isn't true. It is like Wayne said Gary & me are working almost 24/7 to get the track open, but weather and power company has slowed us a bit! The track looks awesome, we have racers come by and check it out every week-end. We invite you to do the same. We will be open as soon as possible, stop by and talk to us or see the track any time, we want all our racers, their families and fans to feel at home here at RTR! Thank everyone for their continued support and patience. See you soon!! Gary & Alesia

I was in Mt. Airy Saturday for the farm fest, so I thought I'd check the track out. The way the hillside is terraced off, it should make for a great view. And the track itself looks good. My only question is, what are you going to do for parking both pits and fans? From what I saw in a quick drive by, it doesn't look like there will be nearly enough room. Or is the hill above the track going to be cleared for fan parking? Hope you guys can open soon, but it looks like there's still a long way to go.

Fan parking will be the directly behind the fan seating area, (you have to drive up there to even see the field, you can't see it from the road.) should be plenty of room and close to the seating area. Pit parking is below the track, after all grading is done will work a lot better. Also have an area to use for overflow pit parking if needed.

Hey Chase, we will be doing something with karts after we get the track going. A track is going to be built in the middle of the big one. But we might have a big event or two on the big track for karts this year.

That's right Doc, I would rather everything be done right when it opens than open and it not right. Look at it this way when it finally opens it will be here and then you will have something new to look forward to. So be patient and let it happen, at least it is getting built. You could not have another choice to go to, at least now you have 3 tracks in the immediate area to choose from. And don't start any crap of rumors that hasn't been posted on here or the site, that is what hurts the tracks to start with. So chill out.
