NO GAS...On May 15th 2007

Don't pump gas on may 15th

In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and let's try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

If you agree (which I can't see why you wouldn't) resend this to all your contact list. With it saying, "Don't pump gas on May 15th"

Urban Legends Reference Pages: Politics (Gasoline) (http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/gasoline.asp)

Not buying gas for one day or one week will not have any effect on prices. Now if all pooled our money and built a refinery then we could make a difference, but unless we all can raise about a 100 billion dollars guess we are out of luck.

don't buy gas on the 15th of May.
Now lets look at this, are we going to PARK police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, other safty vehicles. Shut down all major cities garbage collection and other jobs that the cities have too. Shut down all state vehicles and county vehicles. Airports and airplanes and so on and so on until we have no protection or any thing because some ya- hoo thinks not pumping gas for one day is going to make an inpact on the gas companys. Those citizens that don't pump on the 15th will pump on the 14th or 16th so what have you done but look stuid.

It may not do anything for the gas prices but it would show that we as a nation can stick together. Of course, not everybody can do without gas on the 15th but if just 50% did, think of the numbers. My $60 will be missing from the cash register on the 15th.

its probaly a small tank on it, i've only filled it up once or twice since i got it. its a '88 ford ranger extended cab, it does pretty good on gas, i've put about 15 dollars in it this week and it hasn't come above empty yet but the reason behind that i s because i run it below empty and it just takes the extra to come above empty. its a nice riding truck, just wish i could figure out why the check engine light keeps coming on. i've been told that it could be the catilac converter or the oxygen censors on it.

John,He might be telling us all. He might not let it get down below 1/8 or so before he puts in it. He said it takes $30.00 to fill it but how often does he put gas in it.??????

$30.00 for gas
$3.00 per gallon
I figure he gets 10 gallon but that stilll don't tell us the size of the tank unless he useing a boat tank.

2.97 a gallon. I run mine all the way to the bottom then I over fill it back to the top. So with a 40 gallon tank if its in the organge it takes about $115 to fill it all the way to the brim.
