Things are moving along. We had a meeting with some of the drivers who plan to race @ Fork Mountain Raceway. We listened to their input and modified the rules where possible. We have always told the racers to bring their concerns to us for discussion and we will try to accommodate the majority of the competitors when possible. We have said that we could adjust rules up to the first race on May 5th. After that the rules will be in place for the year, except for safety issues.
We have the Fork Mountain Raceway program on Star News / Cable ch. 18 each Monday night @ 8:00 pm. We take phone calls from anyone with a question or comment.
I have included an updated list of competitors and also the rules update.
It might be helpful to let the racers know that my above comments.

Entry:
3: Minimum age to compete subject to Insurance Co. requirements. ( 14 years old for U-car, 16 years old for other classes.
Pg. 4 General rules for all classes:
1: All cars must have a fuel cell. Cells must have min.1 ¾" steel tubing rear protection.
2: All drivers must wear a SFI rated fire suit, gloves, and fireproof underwear. Fire shoes
and socks recommended.
3: Fire extinguisher must be mounted in reach of driver. Fire system recommended.
4: Helmet: Snell SA2005 approved, w/ lexan shield. (Strongly recommended)
Pg. 5 Car Rules: U-Car This is a totally stock class NO changes except for safety.
1: 1980 or later front wheel drive only, 4 valve engines may compete w/ added weight.
13: NO altering of suspension, mounts, shocks, springs.
Pure Stock Engine Rules:
11: Springs: Single coil str. springs w/flat damper. Max.: @ seat 120#, @ .500 lift 355#
13: Stock type 3/8" stud mount ball & socket rockers only. Screw in studs OK
NO guide plates, (grace period on heads requiring guide plates.) NO stud girdles.
20: Maximum compression ratio: 10.5 to 1 Tolerance: .1
pg. 7 Super Street Car rules:
1: Full size American made cars. Rear wheel drive only.
2: Must retain stock appearance & dimension body.
3: Rear body closed. Interior sheet metal cannot restrict driver access.
4: WB. 104" min. NO: Offset chassis, straight R.H., or round tube frame rails
6: Max. 5" rear spoiler. NO side plates.
7: 15" steel racing wheels, max. width 12" 1" lug nuts
8: NO racing transmissions.
9: Single disc clutch must have a blow proof bell housing or ¼" steel scatter shield.
Multidisc clutch OK w/out blow proof. NO carbon/composite, buttons or couplers.
10: Rear axle open. Single piston OEM style calipers only.
11: Suspension Front: Stock type lower A arms. Tubular upper arms OK.
Rear suspension: 3 links or leafs. NO J-bars, bird cages, floater brakes,
4 links, 5th coil, or top link spring.
12: Shocks: NO remote adjustable, mono tube, remote canister.
13: Stock type steering. NO rack & pinion.
14: Front ball joint in line with #1 spark plug.
15: Cars must weigh 3300 lbs. w/ driver after race. Cars with a stock perimeter frame
and stock type front & rear suspension can weigh 3000 lbs. w/ driver after race.
16 : Tire rule: 1st. half of this year open. Thereafter Hoosier 90.0/11.0-15 D11 or
92.0/11.0-15 D11 spec tire.
Super Street Engine Rules:
1: Blocks, GM 350 passenger car V-8, NO aftermarket or bow tie blocks.
2: Max C.I. 365, Maximum compression ratio 11.5 to 1 Tolerance: .1
3: Crank, iron or steel, min. weight 48 lbs. 1% tolerance, min. main brg. dia. 2.450 -.030.
4: Steel rods only, min. rod journal dia. 2.00 Oil pan may be removed for inspection.
5: OEM passenger car heads GM #s: 041, 186, 291, 461, 462, 492, may be ported.
Bow Tie heads must be unported. Milling head & valves job OK. NO bowl/throat chg.
6: Cam drive: Chain only. No gear or belt drives. No device to vary running cam timing.
7: Flat tappets. NO roller, mushroom or radius tappets.
8: No hard face overlay cams. Original cam configuration & firing order (18436572)
