With all of the controversy over the Earl Pearson Jr and Dublin Motor Speedway tire dispute, I wonder who the fans think is at fault here.

There should bo no such thing as a tire rule at a race track... F-1 racing is working with changing compounds( you have to run one segment with hard tires) but thats pavement.... in the past I have seen tire rules casuse the track promoter is selling them!!!!! They probally should have welcome him with both arms open.... now I bet he will not come back or bring any of his buddys... Just thinking anyway

The same type of thing happened last year with Ken Schrader at 311. He was told he could groove his tires and did, then before qualifying is was told he couldn't by the same person. He packed up and left and hasnt been back since.

It is unfortunate that some track operators make a bad name for the rest.

Thankfully nothing like this happened last night with the guys running the Twin 35's so maybe they will come back. (Well with the track as rough as it was, I'm not too sure they will come back or not)

A spec tire is a promoters tool to keep his cars at his track. That way the people that buy them will not run at other tracks. Another words a spec tire rule doesn't cut into the racing budget as bad and keeps you close to the spec tire track.

Earl Pearson and the 44 team can buy and sell the whole track as far as goes, so the price was not the issue. It sounds to me that there are to many people making some poor judgement calls. If Earl Pearson would come to my track, I'll buy his tires and have them mount them......... It is beyond me if you require a spec tire why in the ------- is it not the track for sale???????????????????? Suppose one of the weekly guys needed a tire, they going to hold the races up for an hour while someone goes and get one......... B/S. There is no way any one can tell me when a tire is going to get cut or go flat, so why not have them at the track????????????????

But Trevor, heres the big thing about the spec tire rule. You don't need to buy 45/55 tires at a time and trust me they do that, 3-4 times a year and on top of that they carry upward of 40 tires on the trailer on each swing for a race. Now most series give you 3-4 different tires you can run. But with a open tire rule the budget goes out the roof. There is always some that will have more tire and the right tire for the night. Don't forget tracks change week to week and so do the tires, so with a spec tire it puts people on the same playing field..................

Honestly, I think that both parties were wrong to an extent. I believe that EP's team knew of the tire situation prior to arrival. I'm sure that EP's team conversed with Terry L. team (Justin) since he had ran at DMS a couple of times already. I'm thinking that he wanted to shake down his new ride with the tires that he had to prepare for the 10K race in Tenn the following night which was cnx due to weather. On the tracks part, they should have had the tires at the site and firm decisions should be made and not altered.

Ponit Is He Was Told By The Track He Could Run His Tires Then The Track Changed Its Mind And Said No........
The Thing They Forgot To Say Was Thank You Earl For Letting Us Advertise That You Would Be Here Which Started 2 Weeks Ago Or At Least It Was On Here That He Would At The Track, And It Was Even Put Out On The Pa System At The Track........

Frist Of All Understand What The Word Fair Means. An Operation Like Lpj Don't Understand The Tire Rule At Dublin Thats His Fault. Don't Bash The Track, Who Cares If He Comes Back.

Does it sound fair to have to by tires for one race.
I would like to take my Pure Stock to DMS but I can't
buy a new set of tires for one race. The price diferance is
ten dollars from spec. tires to open comp. or so said the american racer
distributer
