My disappointment when they announced EPJ would not be racing was pretty high, but come on, the dude should have to play by the same rules right. I'm sure there was some whining going on about his tires. I mean $4000 was on the line. That might be chump change to him, but that is a big win for our local boys. I could throw out some ha ha's here, but I'm not. I am NOT a Scott Autry fan, but I must give him his props. He raced hard and drove fast, just not fast enough. Don't know what happened to 25, but oh well, maybe next week. As long as 1 wasn't 1 I'm good. This race was ok, not the racing I had hoped to see. Not too sure if anyone will remember 'the night the lights went out in Dublin'. oh yeah... It might be a while before someone beats that track record...:dirt_race:

Some miscommunication it seems. I read where the one of the tire guys for Pearson went to the track and they told him his tires would be ok, then DMS changed thier minds after hot laps

That, indeed, is the way the tire guy was told it - last week, he said, when he was discussing this with Mike afterward. He said he got his answer from the tech man (Allen, right?), and Mike said Allen was wrong and "he's gone."
No, Pearson shouldn't have been allowed to run the 1300 (or 1350, whichever ones were on his car) against the specs, but maybe the track should've postponed qualifying for the Supers for 30 minutes to the hour it took to get the spec tires there and make a completely level playing field in terms of tires.
Speaking of which, how could a track NOT have tires on hand when they demand a spec tire be used? I'm just askin' ...

the truth of the matter is there were a few drivers/crew members complaining about the tires..ray tucker and randle chupp ..now that is in the open, let me tell you guys that we went and inquired about the tire situation the previous week and were told we could run the 1300's no mention of a spec tire at all..but the question is where was the tire man?? is it the fault of the driver that he shows up to race and mind you puts a lot of fans in the seats and then is being told a lie?? one minute there ok to run and the next minute they are not ok to run??
and so everyone knows there was a local that runs there every week that was on open 1300's and has raced them every week this year and he was allowed to race and nothing was said!! also no tires were offered to earl by petey ivey, that was another crazy rumor going around..
bad night for fans, teams that worked hard and for track officials that were thrown under bus

Yea I would have to agree.. If they did not have their own tire that they have in the rules at the track then it's the tracks fault all this went down the way it did.. They should have pushed back the qualifying until tires arrived.

The best idea would have been to try and give a little to all the drivers. First its wasnt EP's fault he was allowed to quialify on the wrong tire and if the rule is spec tire not fair to the other drivers. When I got home and looked for updates it jumped right off the screen and slaped me in the face lol, How in the heck is pearson almost a second faster than Ivey?????? I know hes good but dayum. * tenths to be exact! The comman sense thing to have done was let Earl keep his starting spot, if all reports are true that he had the tracks blessin to run the tire in time trails and then make him buy the spec tire and run them in the feature. Maybe this wouldnt have been the 100% right are fair thing to do, but I bet you wouldnt have had the biggest name to ever show up there load up and go home. The local drivers should have axcepted this decision and moved on and everyone raced on equal terms. We all make mistakes, but friday seems like one piled on top of another.

The crowd was there to see the likes of Earl Pearson JR . There were some pissed off fans there. He may not come back. They felt he would leave with the 4000 . And would? Same deal almost with Dustin D8 not a local. So they find way to not let you win. Same things happen at a couple of other tracks that we use to attend. Gone but not forgotten. No fans no race.

its really not about which local was running the 1300's w/o spec on them. its the fact that the spec issue was never brought up until now. and i know chuck runs hoosiers, and it wasn't chuck who was running them, remember he was not even there sat. we were told at dms the previous week, 1300's are good come on and run, no problem. theres really nothing good that came outta this whole situation. you lost a techman and not sure if epj and the guys will ever come back. which a lot of people could careless, but to pump up the race on the DMS website with earl, petey, dan bruer and others drivers names get them (FANS) there and then lie to them about it. techman made a call he was overruled and the rest is history.
maybe everyone can learn from this
jh..the car was just that good..remember the 1300's punch 10 points harder than the american racers..it was a combination of great horsepower from larry wallace dodge powered engines and great chassis from mastersbilt and hard work from the crew..a heavy right foot doesn't hurt either..lol..
hope to see you all again this week at DMS not sure if justin will be there with charlotte running

If you don't believe he or any of the other regulars on the Lucas, Woo, or the Southern All Stars series are that good take the whole gang of SLM's to one of their events and watch them all go a second over the last place qualifier. If you don't believe it ask Ray Tucker, all the years I've been going to Gafney, I've never seen him make the race.

it really doesnt matter to me, but if a local driver is being accused of running the wrong tires and it was stated that " its not really about which local was running the 1300's w/o spec on them" then why should they be mentioned or brought into the middle of this when the same person stated this now doesnt want to give the name of the accused party. and if you knew this why wasnt this bruoght to the attention of the track officials who told pearson he had to start in the rear or load up, b/c whats good for one is good for all. thats my opinion

since your into digging up dates..find out when the rules were changed on the website...i passed the info to my brother he then checked the website, no mention of the spec hoosier until sat. april 14th.
TIRES
1. American Racer – 12, 48, & 56 (spec only) or
2. Hoosier 1300, 1350, & 1600 (spec only)
This Was copied from the rule page at 5:40 pm today. [SPEC ONLY] WAS NOT ON THE RULES PAGE AS OF LAST NIGHT AT 11:PM. This tire issue needs to be resolved. this was taken directly off carolina dirt....
that is the reason he came with me to talk with techman and verify the rule. he was then told 1300's ok
there is no sense beating a dead horse here..you can bring up dates pull up quotes do what you want...its over and done with. it will be a miracle if they come back to DMS...
