So, what does everyone think about the announcement earlier that the NC Attorney General's office has dropped all charges against the three Duke students?

As a minority student at NCCU, I was a little afraid of campus when it happened and I feel a little afraid of campus now that it is over. I am glad to see the bar questioning the DA as I do not think it would have got this far if he played his cards fair.

I was expecting all charges to be dropped. However, what made my day was hearing Roy Copper specifically say each one of those Duke students were innocent on National Tv. There is a difference in not having enough creditable evidence to move ahead with a case and saying someone is innocent. But the thing about it is, in this case, those three Duke students are the victims, not the acusser. Even though they have had all charges dropped and will more than likely have them expunged, their lives will never been the same. They can be goggled all day long for the rest of their lives over the internet. From day 1, when the DNA evidence did not match, all charges should have been dropped. But no, Mike Nifong didn't want to do that. He even withheld critical DNA evidence! He used this woman's race for political gain. He knew that Durham, NC has a high majority of African American's and he knew these unethical charges would win him a re-election if he won. I am pretty sure that when the NC Bar has completed their investigation, Mike Nifong will lose his license to practice law in NC. I am also sure some civil charges will be filled against both Mr. Nifong and the accuser when alls said and done.

If that was one of my sons, DUKE and I would be on first name bases and their education would be on the DA's office or DUKE university, sorry John.
That was totally wrong after the evidence was shown and the DNA results was made pubic................
