$10,000 TO-WIN FASTRAK PRO Late Model Nationals
at
WYTHE RACEWAY
over
LABOR DAY WEEKEND!
By Mike Leone
March 7, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Carnesville, GA)…The FASTRAK Racing Series is thrilled to announce
the largest event in the history of the four-year Late Model Series.
The blockbuster event will take place at the beautiful Wythe Raceway
in Rural Retreat, Virginia and will pay a whopping $10,000 to-win
over Labor Day Weekend, September 1-2.
The fourth annual "PRO Dirt Late Model Nationals" for the FASTRAK-
Wythe Raceway Team has continued to grow each year. "I am excited
about this event now more than ever," exclaimed the enthusiastic
Series founder Stan Lester. "Fred and Susan Brown, along with their
family members and staff, have been great to work with over the years
and this year and this is certain to be a huge hit with both teams
from across the country along and fans from everywhere. We are
currently working with our other Regions across the United States as
to not race that weekend so this event becomes some what like a "warm
up" for the $50,000 to win Grand Nationals at the end of the season."
Fred Brown, long time owner of the Wythe Raceway, has been coined
the "Grand Daddy" of Crate Late Model Racing by FASTRAK's own
Lester. "FASTRAK has been a great partner to work with over the
years," expressed Brown. "They are always open to new ideas and that
really helps the track promoter. Their staff has continued to improve
each year from every aspect, especially the technical and promotion
side of things. FASTRAK furnishes our posters and flyers for each
event along with fireworks, $25,000 prize giveaways among many other
things. I know after the "PRO Dirt Late Model Nationals" last year,
fans actually came up to the FASTRAK officials and thanked then for
bringing the series to Wythe Raceway. That's a huge compliment in
racing this day and time and speaks well for the effort of the series
to include the fans during the race event".
Wythe Raceway has been continuously noted as one of the finest
facilities in the United Sates. The high-banked, one-half-mile dirt
track commonly features three and four-wide racing. Brown has
continually updated the facility along with investing over $100,000
in bathroom facilities alone in 2006, and actually has an attendant
in each restroom- pretty uncommon for any racing facility.
The fourth annual "PRO Dirt Late Model Nationals" will begin with an
open practice on Friday, August 31, followed by qualifying, heat
races and support class action on Saturday, September 1. Then on
Sunday the 2nd, the day will begin with last chance qualifying races
culminated by 75-lap main event paying $10,000 to-win! Technical
inspection will include full disassembly and inspection of selected
engines.
Fans can look forward to the following during the "PRO Dirt Late
Model Nationals": fireworks, $25,000 prize for the fans, driver
autograph session, tennis ball toss to the "fans in the stands" with
cash in them, 6 lucky kids performing the Top 6 inversion on the
front straight, 4-wide salute to the fans, and some of the best dirt
late model racing in the country.
Wythe Raceway is located west of Wytheville, Virginia in Rural
Retreat on I-81 to exit 60, then 0.1 mile north on Frontage Road,
then 1.5 miles east. For information, check out their website at
www.wytheraceway.com or call the track office at 276-223-9804 or Fred

21 featuring both the FASTRAK Late Models and Open Wheel Modified
divisions. Last year, Wythe regular Ron Lawson became the first
FASTRAK Modified National Champion.
