The MACS series would put on a great show at Clary's ... Not only would they bring several of their own cars but even the locals have a great chance at competing. Not like the WoO when they come to town and the locals scatter ... Locals have just as much of a shot at winning as tour regulars and they put on a great show!
Have the new promoters call Jeff Geesey ...

I say have no series races. Save the money and put it in the purse and save the fans money by not having to pay an increased admission:MODhappyjaz:

Series races draw more outside fans and pack the stands, but I don't think M.A.C.S will come this far south

I dont see any names that are running with the IRS or the MACS fulltime that would put anymore fans in the stands VS a nonsacnationed high paying SLM. So why pay a series for what??????????

Those driers are also running MACS, except for Aukland. Add in Robbie Blair, Mike Blazano, Doug Drown, and others and you have a great group of cars and some great racing.
The IRS is new and lets see how it goes ... MACS offers a great point fund and thus will get some more followers.
As for sanctioned versus unsanctioned ... You pay about $4000 in sanction fees but much of that goes to the drivers in point fund monies, etc ... Plus MACS and the race tracks pay a real nice purse for a $5000 to win race and is posted on their website.
Sanctions bring cars plus drivers feel a bit more comfortable racing with a series because they tend to know what they are getting in a sense. The only negative I ever heard about the payoffs in Carolina were the 140 or 150 to start for 11th on back. So in the end, after paying a $100 entry fee, you made $40 or $50. Now we know drivers race to win but they still have to travel. I know that Marcia tried her darnedest to keep booksting that purse to draw in more cars!
And MACS is looking to put together a southern swing with Clary's, Fyaetteville, Dublin - any combination of the two or three would make for a great weekend of racing!

lmao, that was funny jrhodes, i would had never come up with that, u know i have a friend of mine in va that is a die hard duke fan and he called me the night that duke and unc played and once duke lost he hasn't called me back yet nor has he picked up the phone, cause i have called him several times, but anyways that was good. i can just about gurantee that duke will NOT try to run with carolina next time they play them cause they can't do it. if it won't for the guy that scored 26 pts, the score would had been more that what it was.

Heres my 2 cents, an I'm just throwing it out there, but as much as I hate Fri night races, maybe on the weeks a big series runs close to Clarys, like the WoO at saluda, have a fri night show, with just the lates and maybe 2 support divisions, and pay about 8-10 grand to win SLM and have a pretty good purse on down. Also, do alot of advertising leading up to the races, radio, all over the web, email drivers, make a big event out of it and try to bring in some of the big names who are passing through. Just my thought...
