I'd like to see friday racing just like it's always been.......

saturday nights could be the kiss of death for this track with all the other places running saturdays..


don't get carried away with changing everything, leave some things the way they are.

With 311 not being to far away racing on Saturday nights, I'd say it would be in best intrest to race Friday nights

With the new management at Franklin County and their planned improvements and Saturday night schedule, it would probably benefit Fork Mountain to stay a Friday night facility.

I've talked to French on a few occasions since he purchased the track. He seems to be a very reasonable man. He told me he needed to run the track on Saturday nights because of his track help (some family that can't make it Friday nights), and I'm guessing because of living so far from the track. He did mention the track can't loose money, and by his family helping run the place that will save money. Also, he mentioned that unlike previous OLR owners, if the track didn't make it, it would not be put up for sale again. It would simply be shut down. So with that being said, I would suggest that people stop fussing about every litttle thing on a message board and if you truely have a problem simply pick up the phone and call the man. I've done this on a couple of occasions, and although I might not have agreed with French's ideas, or a rule. He took time and explained his reasons. I would suggest that if you want Fork Mountain Raceway to make it and not close down, stop being part of the problem and try to find a way to support the track and be part of the solution. If French hadn't bought the track, it wouldn't be run on Friday OR Saturday nights.

I have to say Friday's. With prior commitments to a drag racing class, Callaway's plans, etc. It would be the best for me and the people I deal with.

he wont have as many drivers or fans on saturday nights...if he ran friday nights there would be more drivers and fans and that would make up for the money loss for his family not helping out....seek volunteers

FRIDAY NIGHTS.......Race seasons only a month or so away, and we have yet to decide on the nights were gonna run on, the age limit, And ECT......
I know French is working hard trying to get the track open this year, but we need to know stuff like this ASAP.

Well on Friday nights he'd have to compete with Rolling Thunder Raceway, which is lookin like the place to be if your within driving distance, so either way he's got competition. :icon_bestwishes:

Friday Nights is gunna bet the best because if u run on saturday all of the drivers are going to be at 311. Also you have to worry about competing with Rolling Thunder too but still he will get more participation on Friday. Need some late models too, they will bring more fans....

I know that change can be a good thing sometimes. However, running on Sat. night wasn't one of the best decisions. I myself will prolly be going to Franklin County Speedway every other Sat. There are too many other tracks already running on Sat to draw as big of a crowd as he will be hoping for.

Wythe Raceway has always been one of the last tracks to open every year, doesn't seem to hurt them. The right thing, is for Franklin County to run Friday nights, they already said it will be hard to get Nascar Santioning because of Motor Mile and SB being so close and racing Saturday nights, and MM will be running Saturday nights. New Management at FC is almost the same as opening up like Fork Mountain is, and some of you people are having a cow because the guy that owns the track (FM) is doing everything he can to make a go of the place.

This makes absolutely no sense. Here is a poll asking which night to race, 95% say FRI. so what do they do race on SAT. As a matter of a fact we don't care what he plans to do with te track when it crashes, its not going to do us any good then, either. Maybe he can use his Sat. help to help plant trees or a garden or something

why would a schedule not be out for a track. If you own it, its yours, just set it up on a spreadsheet. Today,, yesterday, last week,,, or MARCH 25,,,all the same.... out of respect for families and vacations, racers,,, work commitments,,,, just put out the schedule,,, it can be changed...
