If you havent already done so, you need to add antifreeze to your race cars. Temps are gonna fall to the lower 20s this week and that is enough to crack the block without antifreeze in them. I know many folks have neglected this in the past with negative results. $8.00 now will save you possibly thousands down the road if it freezes.

Very good advice.. I just had my truck flushed and filled Fri.. Not a race car but a very expensive motor in it though..

You must have bought a 50/50 mix ....Walmarts antifreeze is around $6...If not, tell us where you got it that cheap..

Now I am not trying to start anything by this. Up here when we run the last race we dump the water pull the frezze plugs and disconnect the hoses.

That is the way mine is done down here. I run and alluminum radiator and was told not to let water sit in it all winter by the manufacter if it wasn't running because of the impurities in the water breaking down and messing it up so i completely drain mine after every season before putting it up for the winter. even if it would be ok i can always look at it as saving that $5.00.......lol...<--------Cheapscape :Yell:

Donnie, does your rules allow you to run an additive to the cooling system?, because if they don't antifrezze is illegal because it is an additive. Right. So before you can race you have got to dump it anyway.

Most of the tracks around here have or at least used to have no rules against anti freeze or additives to the water. which i don't run anti freeze in mine anyway.
