View Full Version : Time to think about selling if tracks won't open

It's time to think about selling if the tracks will not open up. Come on Clary's , Harpers, Wayne County let's race. I have a hard enough time scraping up money to race, now it's even harder because if you have no where to race there is NO SPONSORSHIP MONEY coming in. Believe me it hurts because my sponsors that helped me last year are not this year because NO Tracks are open. I love to race but can't do it without help.

Let's go back in time. Remember all the time's all the lower classes B****ed about the money being payed in there class? Don't you wish you had that money NOW??? (Just a Thant- Next time you all start (and keep on)B****ing maybe you should be GREATFUL.

Speaking from experience, It does take a little more to run there than some of the others. If nothing else you will have to buy at least one tire every couple of weeks that is if you want to be competetive. Compare that to me running two of the same tires all year at wcs. The others weren't worn out but either cut or damaged. And if not for that could run a set all year. I know when i was running i averaged buying about four tires every three weeks. i love the track and hope to run there some this year but tires are an issue for me.

Walt I sponsor a few of the race cars at the line and money is tough to come by for me to give up.I LOVE racing, but I have to run my company first and then if there is some money left over I can spare I give it to Wade Ferrell and Joey Macklin in a heart beat.I love to see these guys race and I enjoy going to watch the racing at the CLR.With the cost of gas on the rise, the electricity it costs me to run my company and then I have to buy bulbs and lotions (I run a tanning salon)It's hard.I do however do what I can for these guys, because I love to watch them race and I know without sponsors it is hard on them.So really Walt money is alot harder to come by than you think from a driver's point of view as well as a sponsor's

Maybe you could give em some free vists. Maybe if they get all tan and feeling good, it could help em run better.:animal85:

I miss read your post were you already help them out. I wasnt trying to get on you bad side. I was being serious about the vists . Heck I go to the tanning bed, well I use to lol It is a proven fact that if you feel good about yourself, your preformance in every aspect improves. By the way If I can regain my position as your idol, I could use some free vists or at least a discount.:smoke:

I guess you have been talking to the guys running in the rear and saving their tires if they only have to buy one tire a month. And i am speaking from experience because i ran clr for years and i am sure there are a few people still living that can remember those days. I have also ran clr recently. The track is hard and wears tires and that is just fact. I am in no way taking away from clr. The track is a great place to race and that is due to the management in my opinion. They are consistant and do a great job at keeping their drivers without all the hype and favortism. I personally like the speeds on one of the other local tracks along with the fact of not buying tires every couple of weeks. For some, the track is tighter and harder to pass on so you don't see as much side by side racing and it takes some getting used to in order to pass. I do like racing there however and with other tracks possibly not opening this year there is a possibility i will be running there this year and am looking forward to it. I think there is a lot of compition there from the local drivers that know the track like the back of their hand and i only hope i can remember how to get around it well enough to make myself competitive there again. Only time will tell on that though. hope to see all of you at one track or the other giving support no matter which track you choose.

Hey you know how racers are....we can't seem to get it completely out of our systems. Retiring one minute and back the next. The opportunity has again risen for me to drive so i had to jump at the chance if for nothing else to see if i still have what it takes. I will just have to fill up on my ensure before every race. Plus to get the opportunity to show everyone us old timers can still wheel one is a chance i couldn't refuse. Just hope i don't get proven wrong....lol
