CLARKSVILLE, TN – The 2007 StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series Rules and Regulations for the National Tour, and the Weekly Racing Series are now available online at the series web site at www.stormpayracing.com. (http://www.stormpayracing.com./) StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series officials are reporting only a few changes from the 2006 rulebook.
The tire rule will have the American Racer Spec 48 and Crate 48 replace the 44 compound tire. The American Racer Spec 56 and Crate 56, and the Hoosier D21 and Spec 55 (WRS-2 and HTS) will remain the same as it did in 2006. The series has also instituted a minimum durometer punch reading of 48.
There has also been a clarification of the header rule for 2007. As in 2006, no Tri-Y headers will be allowed, along with no merged headers for 2007. Each header must have four tubes going into one collector of a consistent diameter.
The carburetor rule now reads that only a 1-inch, one-piece spacer will be allowed with a .040-inch tolerance with two paper gaskets, each of .070 thickness.
The engine setback rule now reads there will be a six-inch setback with a one-inch tolerance. Any setback over seven inches will result in a 50 pound penalty forward of the motor plate up to 100 pounds. Cars with over an eight-inch setback will not be allowed to compete.
A new points system will be in place for the 2007 StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series that begins on March 30, and runs through September 30. The new points system will be more graduated by car count, with more points awarded per cars attending events between a car-count of 10 to 15.
