Dog Hollow Speedway Joins Fastrak with Weekly Late Model Racing Series
PULASKI, Pa. -- The Fastrak Northeast Region grew to four speedways on Monday night when Dog Hollow Speedway (http://www.racefan.com/sresults.asp?SanctionID=988&StoryID=209956#) owner Jim Michny gave a verbal commitment to be part of the weekly racing (http://www.racefan.com/sresults.asp?SanctionID=988&StoryID=209956#) series for Late Models. Dog Hollow joins Raceway (http://www.racefan.com/sresults.asp?SanctionID=988&StoryID=209956#) 7 (Conneaut, OH), Freedom Raceway (Delevan, NY), and McKean County Raceway (East Smethport, PA) on the growing list.
“We’re thrilled to add Dog Hollow Speedway,” acknowledged Northeast Region Co-Director Vicki Emig. “This gives us a foot in the door in the southwestern part of Pennsylvania (http://www.racefan.com/sresults.asp?SanctionID=988&StoryID=209956#). I’ve known Jim for sometime; he’s a good guy and fully understands not only racing, but the scope of what Fastrak is trying to accomplishment.”
Dog Hollow Speedway operates on Friday nights and is located just off Route 422 in Strongstown, Pa. “Fastrak has the right idea and they’ve been working at it for three years now,” expressed Michny. “We want to be part of it. Fastrak is good for everyone. This has to work; there’s no getting around it. The average racer just can’t afford it anymore and tracks can’t afford to pay the high purses that are required. The low budget team can now compete on a national level. Percentage-wise it’s a win-win situation.”
Dog Hollow will merge its steel-block class into its super/open class. “We didn’t announce the crate program last year until March, but there is a lot of interest and I think this announcement will continue to spur the growth,” added Michny.
