well first off he is a wild man and he is a poor loser...he and philip morris were racing for the track championship and morris was running for the national championship and at the last race of the season if morris won the race then he would have won the national championship and on a restart lawrence wrecked morris intentionaly and jason and his crew started to celebrate and thats when Nascar took it in their hands and suspended him indefintely

Jason has the means to buy horsepower and you know he'll have some good equipment so it may take some GENTLE persuasion if ya know what I mean. But again give the devil his do he could wheel a late model stock car, now lets see if he can do it sideways on dirt.

Man I had a blast. The car was just way to tight. I could get it turned using the brake but as soon a I came off the brake pedal it would shove the nose. We missed the gear a little and the tire a little but we are going to change a few things and go back next week.
Thanks for the support.

I think that Morris got what he deserved for his rough driving. Morris did the same in Martinsville and got wrecked, to bad he took out several other cars. Jason was applauded by most of the crowd at MMS for simply bumping Morris, something that is done in NASCAR every week.

Did NASCAR penalize Jeff Gordon for purposely bumping Matt Kenseth in Chicago last year, NO. SO what Jason did was no worse than that. Jason was faster than Morris that night.

It's rather simple it took away a national points champion, which he will probabally win this year because the way I understand he gets better equipment and Trust me when I say he will get calls made in his favor!!! So I guess all I was trying to say is it took the national exposure away from Motor Mile Speedway. Hell if I owned the tack I'd probabally be to!!!!

Actually -- it only took the national title away for 1 week. It just forced him to race one more time (at another track). So in the end -- it was vindication for the MMS fans and their perception of Morris, his racing style and his legal troubles. I do not want people to paint Morris as an angel. Not to say that earlier in the season -- I believe that Morris took out Jason and probably cost him the track championship at MMS.

I am not saying that what Jason did was right, but it sure made me feel good that someone was willing to put Morris in his place at least that night.

Plus -- I am sure there is more behind the scene between Morris and Jason that most people are unaware of.

Being a member of Jasons team, I can tell you that despite all the talk coming from Morrismile speedway, The only trouble we caused them was that we would'nt help them rig or fix the national championship for Morris. If you check the lineup for the last race, the track stewards son was on the pole in morris' backup car, this coupled with the yearlong breaks he got, like when he wrecked or had flat tires they let him go right to the front after the cautions. Any fan or racer that attended more than one race up there last year can attest to this. As for some of the other racers up there, well I think they just got tired of chasing our tail lights. The reason we are changing tracks and divisions, frankly is that we are real racers. We dont want to know who is going to win BEFORE we unload the racer. Anybody that knows Hagen (track owner) or Randy (Track steward) and most of the nascar "officials" at that track knows their ilk. Hopefully there is real racing at Wythe, we have heard only good things about that track. We want to race, not participate in a rigged SHOW. We think the competition and administration at Wythe Raceway is what we are looking for, REAL RACING. I am looking forward to outrunning or getting outrun in a real race. Last year we unwittingly were players in the "Lets make Morris the national champ" show. I am ready to race.

Sounds like sour grapes to me, but I wasn't there, so I can't say. Regardless, Morris still was on top of his game to win the championship, and he'll have to be even better this year, with all the money up for grabs at MMS. There should be some great fields there all year. And from what I hear, the big deal about what Jason did was not so much what he did in the race, but the celebrating afterwards that made it so bad. Jason, good luck in dirt racing, and remember, this is "real racing" where the drivers settle the score, not the officials.

I understand the sour grape comments coming from somebody that wasn't there. We worked our tails off and played by the ever changing rules (no protest rules the last two weeks of the season by the way) but what we needed was the chance to run a fair race. Bottom line is the whole season was rigged so that the final outcome would be a national champ from that track. The "celebration" came when we thought that the national championship would'nt suffer the same fate as the track championship. We did'nt realize how deep the corruption was. The fact is that Hagan (track owner) then bought tires and carbs for various teams to go race at Carroway so they would have the car count so they could rig the national championship anyway. You call it sour grapes, I call it the truth. nascars regional director for our area is lynn carroll, former track steward at morris mile, who covered for the track in the hearing at Daytona, IMAGINE THAT. Ask any racer who ever raced at morris mile and they will attest to his inconsistant rulings and favortism during his tenure there. Sour grapes its not. I am not giving them hell. I am telling the truth and they think its hell. Thank you Mr. Truman. As for the drivers settling the score, its obvious thats what happened in this case, like I said the people that were there know what really happened. I look forward to keep trying to get the truth out there. Its difficult to fight the money and the ignorance. All anyone has to do is check the facts. Steve Lawrence

Steve, I can appreciate your ill feelings about this deal. I've been around racing for 30+ years, and I know there are rigged deals, but I honestly doubt this was rigged for the National Championship. I can see how the track might want a particular driver to win the points, but I don't think for one minute that NASCAR or anyone involved on the national scale could care less about who wins the big prize. If they did, there would have never been a dirt racer winning it. As far as Hagan buying parts to get cars at Caraway, that only makes sense. I imagine he would have done that for any of his regular drivers, as it sure sounds good to have the National Champ running weekly at your track. I would like to hear the whole story sometime. As we all know, the "truth" is generally somewhere between the stories told by each side, and there's always two sets of facts.

Business is Business, and racing has become a business. I don't blame Phillip or anyone else for doing what they have to do to win $50,000. Jason can't say he wouldn't have done the same thing if it was him either.

By the way: This isn't the first time Jason has done this same thing to someone. It HAS happened before.
