Anybody heard that Denny Hamlin is buying SMS and gonna re-open? Heard a rumor last week and just wondering if anybody else heard anything about it.

Interesting rumor Dan...I see on Racecrap, Denny was looking a LMS motor for SNRP Turkey weekend...I asked Jonathan Cash about it and he said he would almost bet Kirk Leone is paying Denny to race their that weekend. He had a race motor, but was looking a motor to practice with..Doesn't matter either way, but just for discussion what does anybody/everybody think???...Paying him to show up and draw a big crowd????..OR Denny just wants to race A LMS???....

Yep and it was the worse race I have ever seen. Also it was December and all the dirt tracks were closed. I've been to over 40 races at 13 or 14 different tracks this year ALL DIRT!

Dan, I have heard the same rumor, and several more to go with it......when I actually see some cars on the track, then I'll believe someone is gonna do something with it........turning back to dirt would be best...jmo

Redclay you probably realize it now and definately an honest overlook but I am talking about Southampton in SE Va. not Southern National. My bad I shoulda spelled it out more clearly. Marcia, I heard it from a very reliable source so was just curious, I am not one to spread too many rumors but this one sounded interesting. And Kevin that would definately pull some fans to SNS if that happened. Plus the drivers that were there could say they ran against him, some may not like him showing on the other hand.

Dan, I also heard it from a person I think is a reliable source(he knows Denny pretty well) and I really do hope it pans out( I was also told there are some legal issues to be worked out b4 a deal can be made), it could be real good for the track, the area, and racing in general.......let's it hope it doesn't turn out to be just another rumor, but I won't believe it til I see 'em going round and round again......and I can always wish for it to be dirt again....LOL
