FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series will wrap up it's 2006 season with the Inaugural "Carolina Clash Bash" Friday & Saturday night's October 27th & 28th at Fayetteville Motor Speedawy. The 75 lap battle will pay $10,000 to the winner!
"We have been working on something like this for quite some time", said Carolina Clash President Larry Lee. "We have wanted to do a 'Super Bowl' type event to end the season with and we are very happy that the folks at Fayetteville Motor Speedway have chosen to work with us. They have an exceptional facility and we are really looking forward to the event."
Ricky Weeks will lead the tour into the event looking for his third straight "Clash Cup". Jeff Smith has been on fire of late and will be a major factor in the 75 lapper. South Carolina veteran David Smith, Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame member Jack Pennington and 'The Coletrane' Benji Cole, fill out the top five in Carolina Clash points. Last years season finale drew over 40 cars and more are expected this year.
On Friday night the Carolina Clash Super Late Models will qualify and run heat races to lock in the top 16 for the 75 lap main event. Limited Late Model, Super Street, Open Wheel Modified and Pure Stock will also run heat races. There will also be a special race for non-winners in the Limited Late Model, Open Wheel Modifieds, Super Street and Pure Stock on Friday night. This race will be for those drivers who have not won a main event at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in 2006.
On Saturday night the Carolina Clash consolation races will be the first thing of the night. Feature races for Limited Late Model, Super Street, Open Wheel Modified, Pure Stock and Enduro. The 75 Lap "Clash Bash" will be the main event.
Pit gates will open at 4PM both days with grandstand gates opening at 5PM. Racing will start at 7:30 PM.
