Posted this in the wrong place.. yesterday.. will try again

Dear Fellow Enduro 6.5 HP Racers,

I have been in China for the last five weeks but am excited to be back on Oct 5 and ready to race karts on the 6th.

I understand that new rules are under consideration for 2007 and wanted to give a little input.

I am new at this so please don't flame me!!

We need clear, easy to understand and administer rules for engines in our class. I have done much research and have come up with what I believe to be a very simple procedure to keep our class competitive, inexpensive, and simple.

Here it is:

Any engine can be used that is 4 cycle, one cylinder and burns pump gas; that includes Animals, Hondas, Kohlers, Tecumsehs and clones. ANY engine can be used. Any modification can be made to the engine: Cams, compression, porting, polishing, super charging, turbo charging, etc. Anything goes!! There will be NO technical inspections of the engines.

But here is the catch: Any racer who finishes the race under power can make a claim against the first place winner’s engine. The claim price is $250.00. In the event that two or more losers want the winner’s engine they must draw for it. Payment must be in cash; no checks, no credit cards, no IOUs.

The engine claim includes the entire engine: carb, fuel tank, fuel pump, etc.. It does not include the clutch assembly, exhaust pipe or sensors (tach, temp, etc.).

With this simple engine claim rule, good economics will be the most effective way to keep the race as it was intended to be: A good, fast, low priced kart race.

Kart Weight: The minimum kart weight should be increased from 350 to 375lbs. Many skinny people like myself have a 25lb advantage over most of the men. Again, this is a simple way to make the race more of driving skills and karts set up rather than who can be the lightest.

Best regards to all,

I thank that is an idea..not to sure about the whole "OPEN" idea.....but i can see were it would work...cause no matter what you do to it or how much money you spend it is still worth $250 to the next man....

But something does need to happen to CONTROL this class...started out really good...now it has got way out of hand...at one time was ONE if not the biggest class and it was gettin more every week..now like only 6 or 7

Not every one has the computer...so maybe you should bring it up at the drivers metting..NO MATTER WHAT you are going to have some that are not going to agree..

GOOD LUCK TONIGHT COLE #4!!!!
