Were the late models that ran at CLR last week a real Clash type late model or a limited late model like runs at Fayetteville?

Not 100% sure what they were all running but I would say closer to a limited, than a super

i think that the 21 and 47 are super late models and the other ones were more like the limited lm but i do know there was a cpl of sportsmans and everything

Several of them were the Super late models, a couple were limited late models, at least one or two (including the winner) were late models with T&L motors, and at least one was a sportsman car. I've been told that anything over about 500 HP at CLR doesn't really help you that much ... just the track configuration and surface. You get a lot of tire spin with really high horsepower.

If it starts to take rubber , you can hook up around 600 hp with no problem. If it is slick then you are better off around 550 hp or a little less. Others have been there with 750 to 800 hp in the past , but they did not have as much success.

Wonder what Booper Bare was running a few years back when he won those big races there? Hey James, I know it's been a long time now, possibly 1995, but do you remember when that guy from Iowa came down here with his late model? I remember he was running an alcohol configuration, smacked the wall in one and two during qualifying. #16 I believe.

He decided to go back to Iowa. He said he was thru with North Carolina. Booper was drviving for Chuck Finch at the time , I am sure he had pretty good HP.

I was told by our engine builder we are putting out between 500-550 HP.
