I would like the opinion of some of the drivers on the points situation. All of a sudden you do not have to run the feature to recieve your points at Harpers. Everywhere I have raced you get points for the heat race. If you fail to make the feature you recieve NO POINTS. Thats part of racing. It's my opinion you should earn your points and not be givin to you. Tell me what you think drivers.

It has been my experience that if a driver doesnt see the green flag drop on the feature race he receives no points for the feature but does receive points for the heat race.

Things have changed ,even in the short time I have been racing. It used to be you had to make 1 lap in the main just to get paid, points were awarded only for the main also. When you had troubles early in the night, it would cause a mad scramble to get the car ready or find a car to borrow, just to start the main. You had to do this if you wanted any money or points. If I worked all night just so I could make the main,and the person that blew a engine in the heat race loaded up and left and still got points and money for racing, I would be mad. You should be rewarded for effort. Just the way I see things. I do like that if you show you are given money though.

I agree. Where is the incentive to keep your car maintained and in race-ready condition. Where's the reward for the racer that scrambles to make the main? I don't disagree with points for the heat races, but I do disagree with points being awarded if you don't start the feature. No start = no points.

To my knowledge no money is givin just points.Still you should EARN the points!

I agree u must start the feature to get feature points. Look like someone wants to help someone out. Heard u had a full class of cars, we might join in this week coming, tiried of all the whinning at wcs.

I have gone over the general rules for points. There is nothing in the rules except the points amount.. What has been done in the past is: if you brought a car and ran in the heat race and it broke, instead of the driver having to borrow a vehicle in order to get last place points, the drivers were being given last points. If you were unable to start the heat race then you wouldnt be given any points.

This has been done for all the drivers in every class. If this is something we need to change then we can discuss it at the drivers meeting or anyone can email me.. The rules this year have alot of grey areas and yes we have had to make some changes. We hope to get all these worked out before the end of this year and have next years rules printed up before the end of this season.. So if you have any input to the rules now is the time to let me know.. by phone,email or in person. I will gladly look them over and get with the harpers,our tech man and the drivers.
