All right so I decided I am going to start 4 cylinder racing at a local race track. The thing is that I have no idea what I should start out with so far as a car. I had an option of a 96 Grand Am 4 cylinder. But I cannot have a DOHC, I want something that has good power for a 4 cylinder. I know some of you stock car guys think that nothing has power unless it has a V8 in it. Which is true but still... not what im looking for. The car needs to be front wheel drive, needs to have a single cam, but you can use a 2.3L 3 valved engine. Remember this is a STOCK FWD 4 cylinder class the only thing that I can do is mess around with the tires but those have to cost 40.00 or less, and you have to show receipt because the track will buy them from you for 40.00 no questions asked. so you really cant use good tires.

any info at all would be greatly appreciated... Im new to the sport.

Thanks,
Matt

have you given any thoughts to a Honda Prelude. They are Lite Weight and have Real good Horsepower. Locally here a lot of guy are having success with them

I would tend to agree with snowicee that a honda is a good pick judging from what appears to be winning at tracks around me.
